STEPS CURRICULUM : THE FOCUS
The nature of the courses at STEPS is very different from conventional classes. This is achieved through integrating theory and practice in a dynamic and meaningful way. Consequently, the students' and parents contribution is essential for the success of the course.
Teaching methodology at STEPS has three features:
1. TACT
Our classroom instruction stresses on a two dimensional approach TECHNOLOGY AIDED CONNECTED TEACHING (TACT). The two vital ingredients of this approach are:
Connected Teaching: It motivates students to come up confidently with their own opinions regarding the problem under consideration.
There are two kinds of connections a teacher is required to establish in the classroom...
a. One is his ability to relate one stream of Science with the other i.e. discussing how an application of Physics (e.g. production of electric pulses in the brain) is related to Biology (movement of limbs)
Second is his ability to motivate students to come up confidently with their own opinions regarding the given problem.
b. Technology Aided Classrooms enhance understanding and break the monotony of lectures. Technological solutions include science movies, video lectures, white board applications and web supported active lectures.
2. COOPERATIVE LEARNING CULTURE
In addition, students tend to respond better to cooperative-learning activities in the classroom, we incorporate this learning structure. Going through class-work in groups or dealing with a new math problem in teams will be some of the several approaches. Our teachers value and confirm each student's abilities and encourage the pursuit of knowledge in each subject. We promote a classroom atmosphere that encourages a variety of methods of self-learning and regular self-assessment.
It is important to provide students with a classroom environment in which they will become more confident, authoritative problem solvers, and this can be attained with a thoughtful teacher's efforts to relate theory with its practical significance in our democratic classrooms.
3. THE LARGEST PLATFORM FOR PERFORMANCE EVALUATION
STEPS has its classroom presence in Delhi, Chandigarh and the major cities of Punjab and Haryana. Moreover, we at STEPS have 15,000 registered students on our website www.stepsedu.com every year from India and Middle East, this also gives the largest ever platform to a IX & X Grader to learn, compete and achieve.
That is the reason why most of the tests and events conducted / sponsored in STEPS are of National Level or State Level and regular updates about them are given on
